Redesigning your home or, indeed, designing a house completely from scratch is never an easy task and there is always so much work to be done and things to think about; however finding the right location in which to install your radiators is something that is the upmost importance when it comes to guaranteeing the correcting heating of the room and ensuring that you have adequate space.
Most radiators will generally be positioned below the main window of a room. This is because it is this location that is often the coldest part of a room (because it is beside the window and cold air can flow in) and therefore it is the best place to heat up first. By having your radiator on the wall underneath your main window it will make sure that any cold air that comes in will be instantly heated up therefore getting rid of any draughts. However, considering that most homes now come with double glazing which considerably prevents cold air from coming in means that having your radiator in this location is of somewhat less importance these days.
Secondly you need to consider where to put your radiator in relation to the space that you have available. Now that many homes, as we have said, come with double glazing, putting the radiator below the window and being connected to the floor isn’t as important so it gives you much more freedom. Why not consider putting it on the wall therefore you will have more floor space? In fact, many modern radiators come in a variety of designs and many look more like a work of art than a heating device so even if it is halfway up your wall in your living room, many people may mistake it for a design rather than what it actually is.
